Winter/Spring 2013

Dr. Traywick & Staff volunteer at Women's Health Fair in Bluffton SC. During the event Dr. Traywick provided free health advice to over 40 women.

 

Dr. Traywick had the honor of meeting with over 150 employees of a local company and presenting tips on skin care and protection. She also shared important facts about skin cancer, what to look for, and the types of treatments available to help fight skin cancer.

 

Summer/Fall 2012

Dr. Traywick voted Best Dermatologists for two years in a row by the readers of Bluffton Today

 

May River Dermatology, LLC is proud to be an Executive Sponsor for the American Heart Association's 2013 Heart Ball.

 

Dr. Traywick provides procedural dermatology training to osteopathic medical students. The students learned basic surgical techniques to perform shave and punch biopsies and the necessary suturing techniques to close the wound.

Mandy Medlin, MSPAS, PA-C joins the team at May River Dermatology, LLC. Mandy is a licensed Physician Assistant that will begin seeing patients in January 2011. Please see "About Us" page for additional information.

Fall 2010

Dr. Traywick & Staff volunteer at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church Health Fair. During the event Dr. Traywick provided free health advice for over 50 patients.

 

May River Dermatology, LLC participates in ASDS Skin Cancer Screening.

 

 

Dr. Traywick is a graduate of Emory Medical School in Atlanta, Georgia and has completed her Internship and Dermatology Residency at Emory University School of Medicine. She has published several scholarly articles in national dermatologic journals on skin cancer and nail diseases. During her training, Dr. Traywick was confronted with the most complex and challenging dermatologic conditions. She has been trained by experts in the field of skin cancer surgery, cutaneous lymphoma, and autoimmune blistering diseases.

Dr. Traywick trained under two specialists in pediatric dermatology, which has given her a solid foundation in treating children with skin diseases. She also trained under the guidance of several private practice doctors in the Atlanta area who are nationally-renowned for their expertise in cosmetic dermatology.

Dr. Traywick lives in the Bluffton area and has two daughters, Isabel and Elena and two dogs, Pepe and Dulce. Her husband, Bernie Traywick, is the Practice Administrator for May River Dermatology.

Mandy Medlin graduated from Converse College in Spartanburg and earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology with a minor in English. She then went on to earn her Masters of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston graduating with the highest honors.

Mandy is trained and specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of all skin, hair and nail disorders as well as the prevention of skin cancers. She has been in practice since 2005 in dermatology as well as plastic and reconstructive dermatology in both South Carolina and Florida. She is from Camden, SC, and she recently relocated from Florida with her husband, daughter and dog.

Mandy is certified by the National Commission on the Certification of Physician Assistants and is licensed to practice medicine through the South Carolina Medical Board under the direction and supervision of Dr. Carmen Traywick. She is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants, the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants, and the South Carolina Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants.

Kristina graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Exercise Physiology from the University of Florida in 2001, and completed her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Florida, College of Medicine, in December 2005.

Kristina worked for Joint Implant Surgeons in Fort Myers, FL after graduation. In 2007 she moved to Hilton Head South Carolina and worked for Carolina Dermatology under the supervision of Dr. Alfredo Brand. In March of 2012 she joined May River Dermatology,LLC.

Kristina is a standing member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants.

Bernie Traywick is the Practice Administrator for May River Dermatology, LLC. In this role Mr. Traywick oversees all financial and operational aspects of the practice.

Prior to this role Mr. Traywick served as Business Manager and Management Engineer for Perioperative Services at Emory Healthcare. He earned his Masters in Business Administration from Emory University and his Bachelor in Science in Electrical Engineering from Georgia Tech.
